Have you had any testing done or tried to figure out what your triggers might be? Sometimes it can be a long process and a lot of trial and error. My mother went through a lot of testing and things to try to find a way to control it.

Snoring can be hell for a partner. I snore like the best of them...but usually only after a night of drinking. As mentioned previously, there is most likely something causing the snoring - and alcohol is the biggest culprit.

If its not alcohol or one of the other things mentioned, you may want to get him to try Breathe Right Strips. These are band-aid like strips that are placed over the snorer's nose which opens up the airways. This opening of the airwaves has proven to prevent snoring in many people.

For me, they felt like I was inhaling Halls Original cough drops through my nose all night - so they didn't work for me. However, many people have found they work wonders.

If it is alcohol, have him sleep on the couch if he drinks.

I hope this helps you find your way to ZZZ promised land.

Several things to have him try:

Does he work out? If not, have him work out a couple times a week. This will help build muscle for him, and help build the muscles in the throat. Having muscles in your throat help keep the airway open, making it easier to breathe, which helps with snoring.

Is he over weight? Try losing weight if he can. Losing weight helps makes the dangly thing in the back of your throat smaller, again opening up the airway more.

Sleeping position: Have him sleep with hes head slightly elevated from the rest of the body. Have him try sleeping on his side instead of his back. Sleeping on your side is the best position to sleep in for snoring.

Snoring is the problem caused due to respiration problem while sleeping...Its for that we need to go for check ups to conform. Even it may be caused due to alcohol consumption.Avoid alcohol which is the right cause for 90% of the health problems which we face..

Have you tried changing the sleeping position, may adding or removing a pillow will help. You have to try different methods to see if it works out for your partner as suggested by other members here. If all fails and snoring is too loud it will be better to contact a doctor who may suggest medicines. Take care.

Do you ever notice "pauses" in his breathing ... more than a couple of seconds long? Sleep apnea's primary symptom is heavy snoring. If he pauses, get it checked out. Serious stuff.

If you KNOW it's not sleep apnea, then it's something obstructive in the airway. Likely too much fat-engorged tissue somewhere.

You can get dental appliances that force your chin forward (enlarging the airway), surgery to cut out the fat, or use sleep position (sew a tennis ball into the back of pajama tops to prevent sleeping on your back) or exercise to minimize the blockage.

There are lots of "cures" - you just have to figure out which one works for you.

Look up "snoring cures" on the web and you'll find hundreds (my site has lots too)

Snoring occurs due to an obstruction in the throat or air passageway, this causes vibrations as air passes through the passage; these vibrations are the snores that people hear.

Snoring is a condition which many people suffer from, it usually prevents ones loved ones and close family from getting a good nights sleep.

Thankfully treatments such as snoring throat spray, snoring mouthguard are available.
