hi everyone. I am a new mom to a 6 week old baby girl. When she sleeps she cries and whimpers very badly. At first I dismissed it but it gets so bad sometimes she will actually cry in her sleep. She also makes these faces like she is in a lot of discomfort, not physical discomfort but almost like something is scaring her? I wonder if babies this young can dream already and if so, could she possibly be having nightmares or is this a sleep disorder? I should add that her father used to suffer from night tremors (very horrible nightmares). Any feedback would be appreciated. thanks

My son had night terrors at the age of 2 months.  I thought he was having a seizure or something.  He was unconsolable and I COULD NOT wake him up.  These continued off and on for 2 years.  He's now 4.5 years old and they are rare, but still occur occasionally.  Just as the specialists say, there's nothing you can do but keep them safe and wait it out.

My sister just had a beautiful happy baby boy. He is 3 mon old now and has been having what looks to us like the tremors. There has to be someone out there who can explain or have an idea of what we can do to help the baby. He barely sleeps waking up even at nap time every cpl min's. I can only imagine how exhausted my sister must be. She said that Riley has been sleeping this way since he was born. I can say that he lives in a happy home and is very loved. I am having problems excepting that "this is normal and that in time it will pass?" There has to be a reason for these dreams. a baby shouldn't even have a concept of what a bad dream is let alone have them reoccurring? Some one,any one??With more info for us please??
