Can anyone help me? My husband is always tired and sleepy, he doesn't sleep good at night, his arms are always waving around and he mumbles words. He is always sleepy during the daytime, he will be watching the tv and 1 minute later, he has dozed off, this goes on all day. He takes a two hour nap, and five minutes later, he is asleep again. He has no energy, when he is talking to me or anyone he sounds very sluggish. He is very very sleepy when he is driving, even if he just woke up. This happened shortly after we made a move from Florida to Tennessee approx. 1 year ago. It's really terrible, he is very cranky to me, he wasn't like this before. He has high blood pressure, but his blood pressure seems to be at the normal range for him 130/90. Since he has had this sleep problem, he has put on a lot of weight, from 186 to 220 lbs. he is 52 years old, 5'6" tall. I finally was able to get him approved for a health insurance plan, with him having high blood pressure, it wasn't easy. But I need to get him help for this problem, can anyone tell me what kind of doctor do I take him to? Desperate...

SOUNDS TO ME LIKE HE NEEDS TO SEE ANY PHYSICIAN AND THEY SHOULD ORDER A POLYSOMNOGRAM ( SLEEP STUDY) FOR HIM. IF THERE IS A SLEEP SPECIALIST IN THE AREA, THAT WOULD BE A BETTER CHOICE SINCE HE WOULD SPECIALIZE IN SLEEP MEDICAINE.  SOUNDS LIKE HE HAS SLEEP APNEA. I AM A TECH THAT PERFORMS SLEEPS STUDIES AT NIGHT AND HIS SYMPTOMS ALL SOUND LIKE THAT IS WHAT HIS PROBLEM IS.

Hi,

I think your husband needs to do some exercise and meditation. Hope it will give good result to your husband regarding sleep problem. If this is not enough for your husband than consult with physician...and find perfect solution to treat sleep disorder....
